Identity
My Ideas for the brief Identity is about the lack of identity. The reason why I wanted to go in this direction is that we humans grow, change and adapt to different status quo by external and internal factors of influences.
I also wanted to explore the different iterations of one self and how that could lead lead to sense of mourning of a past self forced to "die" due to that same external and internal factors of influences as we are collection of others thoughts, feelings and mannerisms.
Following on from this, I gathered research that explores distortion of the body, light, shadow and silhouettes. I also explore different type of stop motion.
After gathering research, I had no clear sense of direction because my idea was broad with the concept of no identity. So thought to myself just experiment what comes to mind so I thought of what if a skeleton with angel wings after layering within Photoshop.
I did experiments with paper cutouts and oil pastels to create abstract movement. It's not yet complete due to a lack of direction but it gave somewhat of a direction to do next.
I decided to create a script to give me more of an direction. its a lot more poetic then a clean direct script that you would give to others but as this is more a guideline for me.
After writing the script, I decided to shoot more footage but this time paying more attention to lighting. Although I liked the later shots, it does make major inconsistencies in some scenes with the lighting. I tried to resolve this in After Effects but it made the clips look dull.
When I was adding the clips to the timeline, I quickly realize the timing of each clip. To fix this I use the freeze frame under layer- time to slow down the timing of the clips
I also added two adjustment layers, the first layer have curves and brightness and contrast to colour grade the clips.
